Our goal is to become more like Christ as we love God with our heart, soul, mind and strength and to love and minister to others. Our desire is to be pleasing to God in our worship, in our families, in our work-place and in our community. We are called to be holy, which is wholly devoted to God 24/7. Jesus came to “seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10) and He has told us to go and do the same (Mark 16:15-16). In addition, we continue to teach and encourage spiritual growth in each person (Matthew 28:18-20) in order to present every person complete in Christ (Colossians 1:28), equipped to serve (Ephesians 4:11-16) and teach others about the love and grace of God.
as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy; and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct; is a light guiding our path (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:10)
as a creation of God, but all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
lived a sinless human life and is the one and only sacrifice for our sins; He was resurrected from the dead and ascended back to heaven (1 Corinthians 15:1-8; John 3:16).
Within Scripture, we see that the purpose of the Lord's Supper (also known as communion) is for Christians to remember Jesus’ life and sacrifice and the salvation we have in Him. It is also a time of fellowship for those who are in a covenant relationship with Christ, as we take the bread and cup in anticipation of the return of Christ.
we believe that baptism (immersion in water) is an essential part of becoming a Christian in the Lord’s church. (Acts 2:38).
Visiting a church for the first time can be a little intimidating. Our goal is to help make your visit to the West End Church of Christ a great one! We want to help you make a connection with Jesus and His people.
You’ll be welcomed at the door. Our greeters can help you with any questions and guide you to the Welcome Center for more information, to the auditorium (where we gather for worship) or to a class.
We will have congregational singing, and you will hear spoken prayers and a lesson that is Bible-centered and applicable to your life. One of the unique things about West End is that the music is ‘a cappella’. We sing without the use of musical instruments. We love the beauty and joy of worshiping God from our hearts and with our voices. We believe you will find the singing meaningful and uplifting, with everyone being invited to participate.
There is no dress code. Some of our members dress up and some dress casually. What’s most important to us is that you are here with us.
We hope you’ll participate in the worship service, but don’t feel obligated. You can just observe if that is your choice. We would love for you to hang around after worship so we can welcome you and get to know you! Don’t hesitate to ask any questions or let us know if there is something you’d like to study.
We have attended nurseries on Sunday morning during worship for infants and toddlers. During our class times on Sunday and Wednesday, we offer Bible classes for all ages from infants to adults. There are additional programs for children on Sunday mornings and evenings. We have very active Children’s and Youth Ministry programs.
After the Lord’s Supper, a prayer will be offered thanking God for His blessings toward us. If you feel moved to give a financial offering, there will be a box in the lobby where you can do so. As our guest, you are not expected to make a donation.
There are different ways that will help you get connected with us: (1) fill out a connect card and place it in the contribution box or anyone, (2) attend a Sunday and/or Wednesday Bible classes for better opportunities to get to know our people, (3) choose ministries from the Connect Corner or ask someone to get plugged in, (4) consider joining our church family here by placing your membership with us.
